Some medications the half life is a fixed constant. if 1 gram becomes 0.5 left in the blood stream in 1 hr, then 10 grams becomes 5 grams in 1 hr.
Some medications don't have a "half life" they have a fixed metabolization rate. your liver can process appx 0.75 oz of alcohol per hour. it does not matter if BAC is 0.001 or 0.35. (except that the 0.001 will be completely gone before 1 hr is finished)
some medications will have a sort of "combined" version... some being metabolized at the fixed rate and some half-life effect.
I didn't think the half life changed when you changed the dose if there are first degree kinetics (most drugs). In this case the reports I have seen on the internet say that the half life is about 35 hours (depending on the patient).

I got mono before I had ever kissed anyone! While it can certainly be spread through kissing, it can easily be spread through other means, from any contact with saliva or other bodily fluids...accidentally drinking from someone else's soda, for example. You know - your body will tell you when you have had enough. You might get a rash or a yeast infection from wearing the same underwear too long, or athletes foot for wearing the same socks too long - or maybe the stench will finally become too much to bear. Doctors recommend at least 1500 calories a day to get all the neccisary vitamins. I have gone with far less before I read this so I changed my eating habits. Fake tanners have a reputation for being orange, but they've improved ALOT over the last several years. You can get ones now that are small amounts in lotion, which you apply every day and develop a nice tan. For a fair-skinned person, this is a much better plan. You do NOT want to end up looking like the picture above. Please consider this option before deliberately increasing your sun exposure without sufficient SPF protection.

First of all, dont go tanning without any sunscreen on. Its the worst thing you can do for your skin, literally. Invest in a good tanning lotion that has an SPF in it-whether its 15 or 50 you have to have some SPF. It will take a while to get a tan in the sun, but even if you go to a tanning booth they will tell you the same thing.

I don't think there's any quick solution, maybe if you saw a social worker they could help you out. With that said, I think it might help if you tried your best to go into public places as much as you can so you can get used to it.
It sounds like you might be having some kind of panic attacks or aghoraphobia if you are nervous out in public places. I had aghoraphobia for a few years and wouldn't leave my house for 1 whole year. I used to get dizzy, nervous, and my heart would start pounding terribly when I was in public places. I went to the Doctor about my problem and he prescribed Clonazepam or the other name for this drug is Rivotril. It is a mild nerve pill. I found that they helped me immensely and have been back to my normal self now for years. The weird thing is, is that it started out of the blue for no reason. Studies show that 1 in 5 people suffer from some sort of panic attacks and aghoraphobia, so don't think you are alone in this. Talk to your Doctor and see what he thinks would be the best medication for you. Good luck :)

you can use an inversion machine to hang upside down and help counteract gravity to gain an inch. if you're only 13 and 5'5" already, then you're probably going to be at least 5'8" and I wouldn't worry about it. If in 3 years, you're still 5'5" then you might be able to get growth steroids/hormones from a doctor. Not the kind that make you manly, but there are some that effect growth. I know a guy who was born premature, and the doctors gave him growth steroids and he's 6'4" now even though his family is all below 6'...

you are already pretty tall for your age. you can't change how tall you will be, but you can make sure that you don't stunt your growth by smoking or by taking in a lot of caffiene. (it depletes calcium which is essential for bone growth) make sure you get enough calcium...milk, cheese, yougurt...so forth.

Exercise, and increase your carbs, also increasing proteins, fruits and veggies, using products like 2% milk and regular cheese rather than skim. That way you can add weight in conjuction with building muscle.

I have been wearing hearing aids since i was 13. The person will like you for your PERSONALITY. Whether you wear hearing aids or not has nothing to do about if they will like you or not.

Being hard of hearing is the non-visible disability. I think you will find as you go through life people will treat you just like any normal person because they cannot "see" your disability.
This can be both a blessing, and an extreme source of frustration.
Be open and honest with the person you like. Point out that you have a hearing loss right away, they will appreciate that and try to communicate with you in a way that is easiest for you to understand. That is also how you know he likes you - he would already be trying to please you!
Just be yourself, make the boy you like laugh and you both will be at ease.

All drugs are potentially dangerous. If the Seroquel did something to you, you are entitled to something. If it didn't do anything to you, then you are entitled to nothing. BTW, no drug has ever cured BP, depression, anxiety, or any mental disorder. Cognitive therapy is the only true cure.
yeah all of those antipsychotic meds have dangers, mainly the drug induced parkinson's disease (incidence is relatively low though with seroquel to my knowledge- and i think that's what people are usually suing over, but im not totally sure, thats just what ive heard from others). i would talk to a local pharmacist about it and see what they know. however schizophrenia, which is what its typically used for, can be very debilitating to a person's life so the benefit outweighs the risks involved. there are a lot less dangers with seroquel than there are with the traditional anti-psych meds. honestly i dont think people should be able to sue because it is well known that there are a lot of risks with those. if you have long term harm and you really want to do it, call one of those lawyer hotlines and get some information. if you werent harmed by it, you really shouldnt be suing in my opinion

You didn't specify what kind of pain killers. Over the counter? Opiate based prescription? Barbiturates? It makes a big difference.
Generally, if you are getting 'high', you are taking more of something than you should be, and your body isn't able to handle it. I wouldn't repeat the experience, as tempting as it may be, and I would contact your doctor.
It is very possible to OD on ambien if you take more than the prescribed amount, and especially if you are mixing it with other sedatives, including alcohol.

I do not think that is one of the symptoms of dislexic just do a search on the internet. One of your symptoms should be seeing letters backwards. You would have problems writing and so on look it up.

It may be just a bone bruise which takes a while to heal or you could have cracked some ribs and your tailbone. It would be a good idea to have the doctor check and maybe do an x-ray to check for any problems. The snow isn't anywhere near as soft as many people would think.

Pseudephadrine, the active ingredient in Sudafed, is not recommended in patients with hypertension. Antihistamines are not, but they are not very effective decongestants.
Local topical decongestants could be used and old fashioned steam and menthol may help.

A pharmacist will be able to advise you, normally medication like sudafed raise blood pressure so the pharmacy will ask you if you are on medication when you buy sudafed, and if you were to say blood pressure meds they wouldn't sell it to you. If in any doubt ask the pharmacist.

Call your local Blood Bank and ask them. I believe you will have to wait a year from the date of your transfusion to donate. As for the Meds, sometimes it depends on the type and amount of Medication you are taking. Kudos to you for wanting to donate.

I have developed a floater that only bothers me when I read by bright light, or go outside in bright sunlight.. it was worriesome until I had it checked out. Well, from what i have experienced you probably looked at something bright and your eyes tried to stop you from having damage done to your eyes. So, if you don't look at anything bright as in sunlight (at the sun) that spot should disappear within about 5 minutes. Don't worry. You'll be fine.

It's been a little over a year since my last cigarette and I noticed for several months when I went from a sitting position to a quick standing position, I'd get dizzy. Same thing with getting out of the bed.
I think our bodies adjust to whatever we put into them and then when we take something away, even if it's a bad substance that we've quit, it takes a while for our body to regain equilibrium.

WOAH! The previous answer about not testing for Vicodin is risky at best. Vicodin is in the same class of drugs as Heroin, it is an opiate which is most certainly tested for!
Depending on a lot of factors (Including amount of dosage, how long you have been using, body weigh, and water intake) typically vicodin will be in detectiable for 6 days!
I would recommend drinking a LOT of water and avoiding a UA for at least a week!
I assume this vicodin was not prescription or you wouldn't be concerned. If it was prescription, just inform the person doing the testing that you have the script for it. As long as you got it legally, it shouldn't be held against you.

You should not drink when you take any prescription meds. Clindomyacin is an antibiotic so don't drink with it, Also if you are female and on birth control be sure to use a back up protection method while on this. Be sure to eat plenty of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidpohillis capsules when taking antibitotics regardless of your sex.
Your best bet would be to call your pharmacist. As far as I can see, there's no reason you can't take both at the same time. One thing I would watch out for, though, is bowel irritation. Sometimes clindamycin can cause diarrhea; if that occurs, you should call the doc and let him know so he can evaluate the situation as far as your welchol goes. If you're uncertain, you can always stop the welchol during your clindamycin course, then restart it. Just watch your diet in the meantime.
I also recommend eating yogurt when you're on antibiotics; however don't take them together. Have at least a three hour time span between each.

I have a good idea... People who take drugs such as meth tend to look awful as time progresses...they loose teeth, thier face sinks in. They look awful. I see them in the hospital a lot. It depends on how over weight you are. At 13, your body is still changing and your body type will more then likely change with age. You can try controlling what you eat. Eat healthier, more veggies and fruit, less chips and soda. If you are really interested in losing weight, talk to your counselor or school nurse. Or you can talk to your doctor about it. They can set up a program for you that includes diet and exercise. They can also rule out some medical problems that could be causing weight issues. More then likely, you aren't as overweight as you think you are, and just a little exercise and calorie control will help. You aren't too young to change your habits and have it work for you, just make sure you work with someone who knows you and can help you the whole way.

well i think i may have heel spurs in my feet. ive been doing some research on it but still want to know more about this condition. do u have a REALLY GOOD website that talks ALL about this? AND i am most likely going to be going to the doctor soon and get it checked out to see if it really is Heel spurs. but in the mean time i need to know what kind of inserts i should use in my shoes. i know i need them, but not sure of what kind. could u help me on that one 2? I went with custom made inserts, but any may help. A girlfriend swears by Gel Soles.
It is the spur rubbing on tissue that causes the pain. Mine seemed to abate when I started controlling my blood sugar (former hypoglycemic now diabetic). Controlling blood sugar helped my carpal tunnel abate, too.
If it really is bone spurs on your heels, the doctor might have you wear arch suppots. the spurs happen because the arch tendon is pulling at the heel bone. I have this, and I wore arch supports for a few years til it stopped hurting. I never notice it now.

Ok, so I accidentally bit my tongue today and now there is one of those anoying little white dots that you really want to bite at. I need ways that involve household items, that can get rid of my little mouth/toungue sore. I have tried salt. No, acholhollic stuff is not an option. Hate to tell you, but there's no better thing to do than just leave it alone and let it heal by itself. Luckily there's a lot of blood vessels in your tongue so it should heal pretty quickly.
Have you tried gargling then brushing your tongue with your toothbrush using mouthwash or paste? I've done it and I know what you mean,(its very aggrevating)but it usually wears off in a day of so.

Nothing will speed up the healing, but the tongue heals faster than any other body part. It should be gone in a day or two.
oh my goodness i get those all the time actually i have one right now i always just call it a sore taste bud because thats what it is lol don't drink anything with acidy stuff in it (orange juice especially) or SALT lol

Drink plenty of water and do not take anymore unless your doctor tells you too. 8 mg is a huge dose. If you had just taken them, I would have told you to go immediately to the ER. However, you are almost out of the woods for serious effects.
But....If you begin to get shakey, sweaty, heart beating fast, nauseated/vomiting, paranoid, or seeing or hearing things that aren't there, then I'd call an ambulance. You could be "detoxing" from the dose. This can be very, very dangerous, even deadly with this class of drugs (benzodiazepines).
For work tomorrow: if you are feeling too tired, too calm, or a little unsteady, then I'd call in sick. Don't drive if you have any of the effects remaining. Either way, call your doctor and let her know what happened. This way, she will know why the script ran out too quickly, and she'll be able to help you monitor for the bad effects that could occur.
Most of all, remember that this medicine is still in your system, so you are not out of danger just yet. Best of luck.
My recommendation is not to abuse prescription drugs. Also, drinking plenty of fluids might make them flush out of your body quicker.

You should be taking a prescriptive dose if you need this drug and not through bars which probably do not have an exact doseage or FDA testing! See a doctor for advise and don't rely on us.
