You should not drink when you take any prescription meds. Clindomyacin is an antibiotic so don't drink with it, Also if you are female and on birth control be sure to use a back up protection method while on this. Be sure to eat plenty of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidpohillis capsules when taking antibitotics regardless of your sex.
Your best bet would be to call your pharmacist. As far as I can see, there's no reason you can't take both at the same time. One thing I would watch out for, though, is bowel irritation. Sometimes clindamycin can cause diarrhea; if that occurs, you should call the doc and let him know so he can evaluate the situation as far as your welchol goes. If you're uncertain, you can always stop the welchol during your clindamycin course, then restart it. Just watch your diet in the meantime.
I also recommend eating yogurt when you're on antibiotics; however don't take them together. Have at least a three hour time span between each.
