I take tablets for blood pressure control, is it safe to take decogestion tablets (sudafed or claritin) whilst

taking the BP tablets.
Any side effects?I take tablets for blood pressure control, is it safe to take decogestion tablets (sudafed or claritin) whilst
Pseudephadrine, the active ingredient in Sudafed, is not recommended in patients with hypertension. Antihistamines are not, but they are not very effective decongestants.
Local topical decongestants could be used and old fashioned steam and menthol may help.
yes most decongestants will raise your bp, look on the contents and take one from walmart brand with a pink trimmed box that says its dyphenhidromine.
doesn't it tell you on the leaflet you get with your tablet? For cyring out loud... don't ask us... ring your doctor!!!!
Ask a Pharmacist we can't advise on meds that's dangerous
Blood pressure is serious stuff... Pharmacist in local chemists are good, or ask your doctor. Take care.
No, don't take decongestant medicines, apart from simple menthol based ones. The decon. will interact with your BP tabs. Try breathing over Vick in hot water with a towel over your head.
A pharmacist will be able to advise you, normally medication like sudafed raise blood pressure so the pharmacy will ask you if you are on medication when you buy sudafed, and if you were to say blood pressure meds they wouldn't sell it to you. If in any doubt ask the pharmacist.
